Roger Chapman's Biography

Roger Chapman has been a regular fixture on the PGA European Tour for over two decades.  Prior to turning professional in 1981, he had a very successful amateur career. His first Pro tournament win was at the 1988 Zimbabwe Open, where he beat Vijay Singh on the last hole.

Since then, Roger has notched up an incredible fourteen 2nd place finishes in tournaments worldwide.  His immensely respectable and consistent golfing record was crowned by a victory in 2000 at European Tour event, the Brazil Rio de Janeiro 500 Years Open in a dramatic waterside play-off against Padraig Harrington. This achievement qualified playing for his country as a Professional, making the England Team at the Dunhill Cup in St Andrews.

Roger reached a milestone of 500 Tour appearances in 2001. The highlight of 2002 was at Loch Lomond when he finished tied 3rd in the Scottish Open, qualifying for a place in the following week’s Open Golf Championship at Muirfield.
